Transparency Statement

The mission of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) is to ensure that health professionals, patients and their care providers, governments, and the public world-wide have the educational and research resources that are essential in understanding, diagnosing and treating persons with epilepsy. The goals of the ILAE are to advance and disseminate knowledge about epilepsy, to promote research, education and training and to improve services and care for patients, especially by prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

The International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) improves the social condition and quality of life of people with epilepsy and those who care for them. We have a vision of the world where everywhere ignorance and fear about epilepsy are replaced by understanding and care.

The ILAE and the IBE are committed to accomplish their goals in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. The ILAE and the IBE do not make OR receive undue or unreliable payments against the law. This policy supports our commitment to ethics and transparency. Both associations follow strict compliance with the anti-corruption laws of the different countries where they work. We seek that all our internal and external collaborators act in congruence with this policy, and work together against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. Transparency is paramount for the ILAE and the IBE.

Combined, the ILAE/IBE Congress Secretariat organise seven congresses around the world including the Asian & Oceanian Epilepsy Congress (AOEC). The aim of this congress is to stimulate research in the field of epilepsy and to enhance patient care throughout the Asian and Oceanian region. The congress presents a unique opportunity to engage with the finest minds in the field and share experience with fellow researchers, clinicians and care practitioners in the region and across the globe.
